Tawa Sports Day
A couple of weeks ago we walked down to Tawa School for a sports day with all the schools in Tawa. We versed lots of different teams and we played lots of games like Netby, Number soccer and Ripper tag. We won nearly all the games we played. We were about to do the last game Netby so we could have a challenge for the shield but Redwood School wasn’t ready and because of that we can keep the shield until the next time we are challenged.

Water Day
On the water day… Sophia
At school we did water day and we did some fun games. My favourite was the water balloons with the water balloons splashing water on us. It was so much fun. We were in 12 teams with students from other classes and the teams had a leader. The water games were held in the field and at the games there wasn’t any water on us but it was still fun, now take it over Nalin.
After the water day… Nalin
Thanks Sophia, well after the water activities everyone just got wet and wild. Some people got water bombs and started to throw them all over the field (some people even splashed the teachers, but they seemed to enjoy it). It was total chaos!

The 5 keys
The 5 keys of our class are:
Confidence – it means being independent
And accepting myself.
Persistence - it means giving effort.
Resilience- it means I can stand it.
Organisation – setting goals
Getting Along –it means being tolerant
of others.

· Peer Mediation is about people taking up their play time to help others.
· Peer Mediators make the school a better place to play.
· The jackets that they wear are bright orange so that others can see the people wearing them.

Be honest
Be responsible

Be nice Never tell lies

Respect others

Road patrols-new jackets
The new jackets keep the road patrollers at S.F.X safe and dry because of the longer length of the jacket and sleeves. So the legs and feet are dry.

Milo Cricket
On Tuesday 23rd March most of Room 6 went to Linden Park to play cricket at the Milo Cricket Tournament. We got into three teams. We only versed Redwood School because all the other schools forgot to come. The Wise Cats (one of our teams) lost their first three games and drew their last game. The Burning Bats won 2 and lost 2, and the Lean Mean Swinging Machine team lost all their games which was a shame. Even though we lost most of our games we all still had a great time.

Young Vinnies
Young Vinnies is an organisation to help the sick, elderly and the poor.
The Young Vinnies go to Longveiw rest-home every two weeks with Angela, our leader, to visit the elderly.
Every so often we visit the Saint Vincent De Paul second-hand shop to help sort out clothes and nick-nacks.
We are having a table at the school fair to raise money for the missionary sisters. If you have any items you would like to donate please contact the school. Many thanks from the Vinnies President Rebekah Olney, Secretary TJ Hernandez and Renee Jansen
